Lieutenant Maddy Conrad, Ph.D. is a Science Officer and Astrometrics Specialist aboard the USS Hyperion (NX-7438).
BACKGROUND
Pre Starfleet
The older of two daughters born to a prominent Starfleet Particle Physicist and a civilian doctor Maddy, and her younger sister Marie were raised in Munich. When Maddy was born her father requested an Earth posting, and spent the rest of his career at Starfleet Science. Currently he is the head of the Particle Physics department. Her mother went on to head the Endocrinology Department of Munich General.
Maddy was accepted into the academy out of high school, heading to San Francisco in 2377. She completed her first year of General Studies, before specializing in Science. Something that elated both of her parents. She later specialized in biology in her third year. During her third year at the Academy she was joined by her younger sister, who also got in. Marie decided to specialize in Operations, and later Flight Control. Her mother was slightly disappointed, holding out hope that she would have gone into medicine.
Bajoran Institute of Science
Conrad spent her fourth year on Vulcan before being accepted into the Bajoran Institute of Science, here she completed two years of Post Grad work and earned her PhD. She specialization was an odd combination of Microbiology and Planetary Ecology, focusing on the smallest and largest levels of life. After her studies she earned a fellowship with the Bajoran Center for Science, in the Biological Research Division, along with a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade.
She spent the majority of her time on Derna, the fourth moon where here team was conducting an in depth study on the various flora and fauna on the moon. In 2385 her team leader approached her and promoted her to full Lieutenant, he also recommended she tried to get onto a ship because field experience would greatly help her career.
Discovery and Pegasus
She put in a request was posted to the Galaxy USS Discovery (NCC-72980). However after only 10 months she put in for a transfer. Her, and many other members of the senior staff couldn't deal with the tyrannical nature of the Chief Science Officer. Her request was accepted and in late 2386 she was posted to the Steamrunner Class USS Pegasus (NCC-53847-E). During her time aboard the Pegasus she expanded her skill set, while she maintained focus on biology she began to focus on astrophysics as well.
Along with most of the crew she was transfer to the Aventine-class USS Pegasus (NCC-85714) in 2388, here she further expanded her cross training and even began to serve duty shifts in astrometerics.
Hyperion
In late 2389 Conrad was reassigned to the Hyperion-class USS Hyperion (NX-7438) serving as an Astrometrics Officer, her posting came when she found herself aboard the Hyperion following an attack on Akaria III.
