Prisoner of War Medal

The Prisoner of War Medal may be awarded to any person who was held as a Prisoner of War or held captive by an Enemy of the Federation.

Basic Qualification

To qualify for the medal the person must have been held captive during an overt war or armed conflict that involved Starfleet in large part. Being captured and held during undercover (covert) operations; small skirmishes, short battles or limited conflicts between isolated systems or planets would not qualify for the award.

The person's conduct, while in captivity, must have been honorable. This medal may be awarded posthumously to the surviving next of kin of the recipient.
